Introduction

Sopra Steria is seeking a Practice Lead for Cloud Platforms (Azure & AWS) to join our Digital Platform Services team. In this role, you will lead a team of 15 to 20 DevOps and Cloud Engineers while also managing the delivery of complex Cloud Managed Services contracts as a Service Delivery Manager. You will be responsible for quality, continuity, and results within cloud platforms, ensuring teams deliver according to agreements, and fostering the growth and development of your team.

Responsibilities

• People Leadership & Development (40%)
  • Guide 15 to 20 DevOps and Cloud Engineers in their professional development, ensuring they thrive in client environments.
  • Maintain visibility with your team and stay informed about practical issues.
  • Ensure optimal deployment of talent and suitable matches with client and contract needs.
• Service Delivery Management (40%)
  • Manage multiple Cloud Managed Services contracts for AWS and Azure environments.
  • Direct DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams working on the management and continuous development of cloud platforms.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure adherence to agreements and SLAs.
  • Adjust strategies as needed and engage with clients regarding performance, improvements, and collaboration.
  • Take responsibility for the P&L of your contracts.
• Business Drive & Innovation (20%)
  • Identify opportunities with existing clients and contribute to the expansion of Cloud Managed Services.
  • Stay abreast of developments in cloud and platform engineering, such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and observability, translating these into service improvements.
  • Contribute to the growth of the practice, including team expansion, strengthening propositions, and capitalizing on opportunities with existing clients.

Requirements

• Experience in IT services, specifically in environments combining cloud, DevOps, and managed services.
• Proven responsibility for both delivery and client relationships.
• Experience as a Practice Lead, particularly in Service Delivery, or a similar role involving contract management, SLA monitoring, and tactical/strategic client engagement.
• Understanding of how DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams operate and how to translate their output into client agreements.
• Commitment to team development and fostering growth.
• Familiarity with technical team practices and the ability to address quality or collaboration challenges.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and knowledge of container platforms, automation, and platform engineering (hands-on experience not required, but understanding the context and providing direction is key).
• Interest in further developing a practice and contributing to growth strategies, including team expansion, proposition enhancement, and leveraging client opportunities.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Familiarity with observability tools and practices.
