Platform Engineer - Identity Hubs

Introduction

As a Platform Engineer specializing in Identity Hubs at TBDex within TIDAL/Block, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing open-source initiatives centered around Decentralized Identifiers, Verifiable Credentials, and personal datastores. You will contribute to shaping standards and building core components for the tbDEX project, often in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively develop implementations of standard components, contributing approximately 75% of your time to TBD's core efforts.
• Dedicate the remaining time to architecture and providing senior guidance to other engineers.
• Develop and maintain verifiable credential packages, services, libraries, and dependencies.
• Quickly adapt to and learn new subject areas across various domains and technologies.
• Navigate ambiguous situations with comfort in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience with major components and standard specifications such as Decentralized Identifiers, Verifiable Credentials, and personal datastores.
• 5+ years of engineering experience on projects related to decentralized identity.
• Some management experience leading an engineering team.
• Fluent in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Go.
• Previous open-source experience.
• Experience with applied cryptography.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DIDComms and DID Authentication.
• Experience with Capability-based authorization.
• Basic ability to code in Rust and work with WASM.
• Experience with ION and DID-based personal datastores (e.g., Identity Hubs).
