About the Position

Introduction

Are you an experienced Backend PHP Developer eager to make a social impact on education across the Netherlands and Europe? An international EdTech firm in Utrecht is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic PHP Developer to join their Agile team and contribute to a high-quality, scalable, and secure platform.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the backend of the platform.
Contribute to the technical vision and architecture.
Collaborate closely with other developers, product owners, and designers.
Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and performs optimally.
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PHP Developer.
Extensive knowledge of PHP, including frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
Experience with API development and RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
Experience with Git and Agile development methodologies.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Proactive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

Experience with microservices architecture.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis, Elasticsearch).
Experience with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ).
Experience with Vue.js (frontend).
