Metagraph Developer - Scala

Constellation is a decentralized network built in Scala, designed for developers to create highly scalable application-specific blockchains. Developers can create metagraphs, or subnetworks, with customizable logic for data validation, consensus, and token-based incentives. Its micro-service oriented architecture supports big data and high-throughput workloads. Constellation has also collaborated with the US Department of Defense since 2019 on military-grade cross-chain messaging capabilities. The team is 100% remote and international. Introduction

Constellation Network is seeking a full-time remote Metagraph Developer skilled in Scala to contribute to its ecosystem. The primary focus of this role is to develop metagraphs, which are Constellation's L1 subnets, and to support community builders through documentation, educational content, and library development. Metagraphs are built using functional Scala with the Cats library and a custom metagraph framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement metagraph codebases for community examples and production applications.
• Build and maintain developer libraries to support the community.
• Create comprehensive documentation and technical specifications for all projects.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing through educational videos and consultations with ecosystem projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Scala.
• Understanding of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, and blockchain technologies.
• Familiarity with cryptographic principles and security best practices in protocol design.
• Familiarity with Git, testing and design practices, and agile software development concepts.
• Ability to work productively in a remote and independent setting.

Nice to Have

• Interest in functional programming concepts (e.g., Scala Cats).
• Knowledge of existing blockchain architectures and implementations.
• Open source contributions.
