Introduction

As a Java Engineer at Sopra Steria, you will work on challenging and impactful software projects for our clients. You will translate complex business questions into stable, scalable, and maintainable solutions, using modern Java technologies to build new functionalities and improve existing applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop primarily in Java, utilizing frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.
• Work on-premise or in the cloud (Azure or AWS), depending on the project.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews.
• Help teams follow best development practices.
• Innovate and apply new technologies.

Requirements

• Completed HBO or WO degree in a technical field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience as a Java Developer.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, Maven, and Git.
• Affinity with cloud technology (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Clear communication skills and the ability to be a strong sparring partner for colleagues and clients.
• A proactive approach to taking responsibility.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.
