About the Position

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for our Asset & Wealth Management, Digital Assets Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of what's possible in a dynamic and innovative environment. As an integral part of an agile team, you will contribute to enhancing, building, and delivering market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will be a core technical contributor, responsible for critical technology solutions across various business functions.

Responsibilities

Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and conduct thorough code reviews.
Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability.
Drive awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies within the Software Engineering community of practice.

Requirements

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
Proficiency in designing and developing scalable, secure services using Java, Spring Boot, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Ability to collaborate with platform teams to enhance developer experience, toolchains, and cloud-hosted blockchain services.
Experience working closely with Product, Operations, and Core Blockchain teams to innovate and execute transformative blockchain use cases.
Strong object-oriented programming language background in Java or one or more of the following languages: Go, Rust, or JavaScript.
Proficiency with enterprise development toolchains: Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
Demonstrable practical cloud-native experience, particularly with AWS and Kubernetes.
Practical experience in delivering system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
Proven track record of delivering complex software projects into production.
Excellent collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.

Nice to Have

Hands-on knowledge of end-to-end development in the Web3 ecosystem, including smart contract development, deployment, interaction with RPC providers, and integration with key management systems.
Exposure to building on public or permissioned blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum/EVM, Hyperledger, Solana, Polkadot, Cosmos, Avalanche, Canton).
Thorough understanding of cryptographic protocols and blockchain implementations.
Good understanding of key management, custody solutions, and cryptographic fundamentals.
