Introduction

Are you an experienced PHP Developer looking to lead the technical environment at a European market leader? Do you want to drive the professionalization of a large and complex technical landscape, influence software architecture, and work fully remotely? Then this exciting opportunity is for you!

Responsibilities

• Lead the further development and expansion of the client's technical environment, a European market leader in the service sector.
• Act as the liaison between development and business, advising on technical solutions.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and functionality, guiding development teams through the process.
• Play a pivotal role in professionalizing a large and complex system landscape.
• Take responsibility for software architecture.
• Hands-on development of new features and continuous improvement of the existing environment (migrating from PHP 7.4 to 8.2/8.3).
• Focus primarily on PHP development in a Symfony environment, alongside architectural and technical software aspects.
• Optimize code, review colleagues' code, and make crucial technical decisions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a PHP Developer.
• Experience with Symfony (Laravel is a plus).
• Experience with large and complex technical environments.
• Experience with software architecture.
• Experience with PHP 7.4+ (and readiness for migration to 8.2/8.3).
• Experience with database optimization (MySQL).
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Proficient in both Dutch and English.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
