Having experienced significant growth in recent years, they are now poised to establish a new technical foundation to support their international expansion. This greenfield project offers you the freedom to implement your vision for a new, scalable software architecture, covering the entire ecosystem from procurement apps to in-store experiences.

Responsibilities

As a Lead PHP Developer, you will act as both an architect and a team player. You will take a leading role in designing and implementing new, scalable software architectures, coaching colleagues, ensuring quality, and fostering a positive technical culture. You will also actively contribute to expanding the team and shaping the technical roadmap.

Design, develop, and implement new functionalities for the online retail platform, focusing on backend services and APIs.
Realize a future-proof and scalable architecture.
Guide and coach junior and medior developers.
Ensure code quality, performance, and security through code reviews, tests, and best practices.
Actively contribute to the technical roadmap and the adoption of new technologies.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate product vision into technical solutions.
Identify and resolve complex technical problems.
Set up and maintain a DevOps culture.
Build a robust and secure CI/CD pipeline.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PHP Developer, with at least 2 years in a leading or senior role.
Extensive experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and SOLID principles.
Experience with microservices architectures and API design.
Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Passion for clean code and test automation.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Fluent in Dutch and English (verbal and written).
Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis, Elasticsearch).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
