Lead Mendix Consultant

Introduction

Sopra Steria is seeking a Lead Mendix Consultant to combine client-facing work with the further development of our Mendix practice. You will spend most of your time (60–80%) at client sites, helping organizations effectively implement Mendix. The remainder of your time (20–40%) will be dedicated to evolving our Mendix practice, developing new propositions, frameworks, and standards, and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on Mendix strategy and architecture.
• Guide complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Establish robust governance, lifecycle management, and security protocols.
• Support teams in improving their working methods, including citizen development and AI support.
• Ensure the quality and direction of client work.
• Contribute to the development of our Mendix practice by creating new propositions and standards.
• Mentor colleagues in architecture and consultancy.
• Participate in defining the technical direction of the practice and actively share knowledge.

Requirements

• Education: HBO or WO degree in IT (or equivalent) with a strong background in software development and platform thinking.
• Mendix Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience with Mendix, including independent application development, effective platform application in complex projects, and proposition development.
• Integrations & Technology: Experience with integrations such as REST or OData, and insight into system architectures and data flows.
• Architecture & Quality: Knowledge of architectural principles and the ability to guide solutions, ensure quality, and design scalable, manageable systems.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Mendix governance (e.g., Mendix CoE).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Sector experience (government, finance).
• Experience with AI applications within Mendix.
• Team coaching experience.
