About the Position

Are you an experienced Data Engineer passionate about leading innovative data projects? Do you want to work on challenging assignments for leading clients in various sectors, such as healthcare, government, and business? Then the role of Lead Fabric Data Engineer at ilionx is for you!

As a Lead Fabric Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing modern data platforms, utilizing the latest Microsoft Fabric technologies. You will work closely with our clients to realize their data ambitions and help them make optimal use of their data. You will be the link between business and technology, translating complex issues into concrete, scalable, and future-proof data solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coach (junior) Data Engineers.
Advise clients on data strategies, data architecture, and the implementation of Microsoft Fabric.
Design and build end-to-end data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
Develop and implement advanced data models and ETL/ELT processes.
Ensure the quality, performance, and security of data platforms.
Contribute to the further development of our Data & AI proposition and knowledge sharing within ilionx.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years in a leading or senior role.
Completed HBO or WO education (Bachelor's or Master's degree) in an IT-related field.
In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Fabric, including components such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Power BI.
Strong skills in SQL, Python, and/or Spark.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps).
Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
A proactive attitude, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset.
Excellent communication and advisory skills, both verbal and written.

Nice to Have

Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Experience with other data visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment.
