Lead DevOps Engineer

Introduction

Are you a senior DevOps Engineer eager to take ownership of a multi-cloud infrastructure? In this role, you will be responsible for further professionalizing a high-traffic platform within a modern cloud environment. You will combine hands-on engineering with architectural insight and gain significant freedom to make technical choices.

Responsibilities

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will hold a crucial position within the team. You will not only be technically hands-on but also a mentor to your colleagues and the driving force behind strategic infrastructure decisions. You will:

• Manage and optimize the current multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Collaborate with software developers to optimize application architecture for cloud-native environments.
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Share your knowledge and guide junior/medior DevOps Engineers in their development.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with at least 2 years in a leadership/lead function.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure (certifications are a plus).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
