About the Position

Introduction

This role is for individuals who lead integration and data projects as if they were their own product. You will lead on content and delivery, manage a data team, engage with clients, and contribute hands-on where necessary.

This is a consultancy-like role where you will take the lead in setting up new data integrations for various clients. You will help clients find the right solution for their data challenges, from technology selection to architecture and implementation. You will become the go-to person for both the client and your own team.

Projects vary in size and complexity and are often executed on-site at the client's location. Examples include setting up a new data platform for a startup, integrating data from various sources for a corporate, or establishing a real-time data pipeline for a SaaS company. You will work with diverse technologies such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow, Kafka, Apache Flink, Python, Scala, SQL, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, DBT, and more. Experience with all these tools is not required, but a broad interest and willingness to learn are essential.

You will play a crucial role in the growth of the data team. You will mentor junior and medior data engineers, share your knowledge and experience, and support their development. Additionally, you will be actively involved in recruiting new talent and expanding the team.

Responsibilities

Lead data integration and data pipeline projects.
Drive content and delivery of data solutions.
Manage and mentor a data engineering team (junior and medior engineers).
Engage with clients to understand their data needs and propose solutions.
Make technology choices and design data architectures.
Execute hands-on implementation when required.
Contribute to the recruitment and growth of the data team.

Requirements

Completed HBO/WO degree in a technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team or managing projects.
Demonstrable experience with data integrations and building data pipelines.
Experience with various data technologies and tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow, Kafka, Apache Flink, Python, Scala, SQL, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, DBT).
Strong communicative skills and a proactive attitude.
Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
