Our client, a national healthcare organization, is looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer to play a pivotal role in their digital transformation.

This organization, with over 2000 employees across 40+ locations, uses technology to improve care for individuals with long-term and/or complex care needs. Having dedicated the past two years to a digital transformation, the Cloud (Azure) is now central to their IT infrastructure's future. You will join a Cloud team of 5 FTE.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will be central to the transition to an Azure-only environment. You will act as the technical specialist translating vision and architecture into concrete solutions, bridging architects, business stakeholders, and the development team. You will drive the optimal use of Cloud, translating this into a roadmap and implementation. Your responsibilities include leading your team, serving as a mentor, and ensuring the delivery and quality of the IT infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing scalable and secure Cloud solutions (Azure).
• Setting up CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment processes.
• Coaching and guiding a team of Cloud Engineers (5 FTE).
• Ensuring a secure, stable, and high-performing Azure environment.
• Actively contributing to the Cloud strategy and roadmap.
• Translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitoring compliance and security standards (NEN, ISO, AVG, BIO).
• Implementing IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform and Azure ARM templates.
• Solving complex technical problems and troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualities and skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, with demonstrable Azure experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or coaching role.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services (e.g., Azure Networking, Azure AD, Azure Compute, Azure Storage, Azure Security Center, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Azure ARM templates).
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• HBO or WO (Bachelor's or Master's) level of education or equivalent work experience.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
