We are looking for a Kubernetes Engineer specializing in on-premise solutions for an organization in The Hague (hybrid work model). This organization has a strong focus on fully managing its infrastructure and data. As a Kubernetes Engineer, you will be the expert building and maintaining their Kubernetes platform from scratch. You will design, implement, and maintain clusters, ensure optimal performance and scalability, and automate as many tasks as possible. You will work closely with development teams to support them in deploying and running their applications on the platform. Your expertise in Linux systems is essential for successfully managing the underlying infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a robust and scalable Kubernetes platform in an on-premise environment.
• Automate installations, configurations, and deployments using Ansible.
• Manage and optimize Linux servers that serve as the foundation for the Kubernetes cluster.
• Ensure monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform stability and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to set up and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and open-source tools.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and mentor less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Higher professional education (HBO/WO) or equivalent work and thinking level.
• Demonstrable experience as a Kubernetes Engineer, with a focus on on-premise deployments.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Strong automation skills with Ansible.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and security within a Kubernetes context.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player mindset.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
