Junior / Trainee Cybersecurity Consultant

Introduction

Start your career at the intersection of digital risks, strategy, and consultancy. In this role, you will learn how to help organizations understand, assess, and manage cyber risks, without implementing technical tools yourself. You will work on substantive projects for large (international) companies, contribute to governance issues, and translate complex information into clear reports for management and investors.

You will join one of the most prominent cybersecurity consultancy firms in the Netherlands. This young and dynamic team of experts tackles the most challenging cybersecurity issues for leading Dutch organizations. They excel in advising on strategy, risk management, audit, compliance, and governance, focusing on the strategic level rather than technical implementations. The organization has a flat structure, is accessible, and offers ample space for personal growth and development. You will be assigned a mentor to guide you in your development as a consultant.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex cybersecurity risks into understandable and concrete advice for management and executives.
• Learn and apply various governance frameworks such as NIS2, NEN7510, and ISO27001.
• Advise clients on cyber risk management, information security, and data security, as part of a consultant team.
• Work on diverse projects for various (large) clients.
• Analyze and assess organizations' cybersecurity maturity and help them improve it.
• Learn about privacy, laws, and regulations such as GDPR, and assist in drafting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A maximum of two years of relevant work experience.
• A completed university degree (WO) in a relevant field, such as Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, (Business) Economics, Public Administration, or Law.
• Affinity with IT, technology, information security, and cybersecurity.
• Strong analytical skills and a well-developed conceptual thinking ability.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
