Responsibilities

As a Junior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable Java applications. You will work in an agile environment and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle. This includes:

Translating functional and technical designs into concrete code.
Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Java.
Performing unit and integration tests to ensure quality.
Actively participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with team members.
Contributing to solving technical problems and optimizing applications.

Requirements

A completed HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Java Developer (internship experience counts).
Solid knowledge of Java SE/EE and preferably Spring Boot.
Experience with database technologies such as SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
A proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a team player.
Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
