Introduction

As a Junior Information Security Expert, you will join the Vendor Security Services (VSS) team, part of the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) department, within the Operations and Intelligence (O&I) grid. Your role is crucial in managing, monitoring, and reporting on the security posture of strategic partners at both operational and tactical levels. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment, learns quickly, and is driven to achieve results through teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Govern and manage IT vendor relationships concerning the security aspects of underlying contractual obligations.
• Execute Vendor Security Risk Assessments and perform follow-up actions, focusing on relevant risks, translating them into business contexts, and assisting stakeholders in addressing security challenges.
• Ensure information security risks are identified and managed effectively throughout all stages of relationships with external vendors.
• Review the applicability and quality of assurance reports issued by third parties.
• Drive continuous improvements in reporting quality and service provided by third parties.
• Manage the IT security-related part of contracts with third-party providers, collaborating with second-line functions such as legal, compliance, procurement, and other internal parties on contractual changes.
• Assist in solving security-related questions, take initiative, and escalate issues promptly when needed.
• Identify and suggest improvements to team processes and contribute to enhancing the excellence of our service offering.
• Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity trends and developments in technology, information risk, and threats, actively sharing this knowledge with colleagues and helping to integrate them into the assessment program.

Requirements

• HBO/Bachelor or university level of working and thinking.
• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in information security.
• Experience in a complex environment (internal and external stakeholders, different time zones, different cultures).
• Strong ability to translate technical risks into business risks and vice versa.
• Experience communicating to senior management.
• Pragmatic, result-driven, analytical, with excellent verbal, written communication, and social skills.
• Energetic and enjoys working in an agile environment.
• Takes ownership of personal and team's delivery and possesses a proactive attitude.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
