Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage daily operational tasks and actively contribute to the development of the Azure platform. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing patch management, monitoring, incident analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Managing Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Exchange Online.
• Setting up and optimizing Intune, Conditional Access, and identity & access management.
• Supporting application updates and lifecycle activities for servers and Azure components.
• Working with basic Azure components such as Virtual Machines, Storage, Virtual Networks, and network security.
• Contributing ideas for process improvement, standardization, and documentation.
• Collaborating with Azure specialists to grow towards platform management.
• Implementing changes according to security and compliance guidelines.
• Guiding external vendors in management and lifecycle activities.

Requirements

• HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level, and several years of experience as a system administrator.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure and knowledge of key components such as Virtual Machines, network functionality, storage, and Entra ID.
• Strong foundation in networking, security, and automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform).
• Certifications AZ-900 and AZ-104, Windows Server certifications required.
• Strong communication skills, structured, proactive, and results-oriented.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Linux or databases is a plus.

About Company

The IT Operations team consists of 11 colleagues with various specialisms, including Azure management, security, and application management. We work in an open and informal atmosphere with short lines of communication and little hierarchy. You will work closely with other IT teams and permanent external partners. Within the team, there is ample room to learn, improve processes, and collectively advance towards mature cloud and platform management.

The IT environment runs entirely in the Azure cloud, and DevOps teams are responsible for their applications from concept to deployment. In this role, you manage daily operational tasks and have the opportunity to grow into a more platform-oriented function. You can deepen your knowledge, contribute to standardization and automation, and gradually work on the further expansion of the Azure platform.
