Responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for the management and further development of the hybrid IT environment. You will work on a wide range of technical issues and provide 2nd and 3rd line support to the organization. Your tasks include:

• Managing and optimizing a hybrid infrastructure.
• Handling 2nd and 3rd line incidents and serving as the primary contact at this level.
• Executing changes and project-based activities, such as network expansions, activating VLANs, and working on hardware and software renewals.
• Working with a Microsoft-oriented environment, including Hyper-V, Azure, and Intune.
• Resolving technical issues within both system administration and network management.
• Liaising with external parties when deeper technical expertise is required.
• Using Jira for incident handling, change management, and project administration.

Requirements

• MBO 4 or HBO (Dutch vocational or higher professional education) work and thinking level, preferably in IT.
• Several years of experience in infrastructure management (approximately 5 years is a plus).
• Experience within medium to large environments (100+ workstations).
• Knowledge of Microsoft environments, hybrid cloud, and virtualization (Hyper-V).
• Experience with incident analysis and independently solving complex problems.
• You work in a structured manner, understand the importance of documentation, and find it logical to log your activities.
• Strong communication skills, customer-friendly, and able to present yourself professionally.
• Ability to work independently and handle project-based tasks.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

The organization serves both national and international clients, including large strategic partners. They have multiple locations, and they are seeking an Infrastructure Specialist for their location in the Vught region.

This location operates with a hybrid IT environment and manages approximately 300 workstations internally. The infrastructure consists of a combination of cloud and on-premise, utilizing a central Azure environment for multiple business units. Cloud services such as Teams, OneDrive, and Intune are actively used, while certain data must remain on-premise due to security guidelines.

Within the IT team, you will collaborate with both internal IT specialists and an external party providing specialized and complex background support. The organization is currently undergoing a significant professionalization, with more and more management tasks being brought in-house. You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to this and help build a robust and future-proof infrastructure.
