Head of Payments

Nexus International Entertainment is the international iGaming operator behind the Spartans brand. As Spartans continues to scale across markets, we are strengthening our global payments infrastructure to support growth, improve conversion, and optimise transaction efficiency.

Introduction

Nexus International Entertainment is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Payments to lead our global payments strategy. This is a senior leadership role responsible for building a scalable, high-performance Payment Service Provider (PSP) network to support the rapid growth of the Spartans brand across international markets. You will have a direct impact on improving conversion, optimizing transaction efficiency, and strengthening fraud controls.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard relevant PSPs across priority markets to support global expansion.
• Negotiate commercial terms, fees, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with partners.
• Strategically improve deposit approval rates and reduce transaction friction for users.
• Optimize payment routing logic and orchestration to maximize efficiency and success rates.
• Implement and manage strategies to reduce chargebacks and fraud-related losses.
• Monitor key payment performance indicators (KPIs) including approval rates, decline codes, and cost ratios.
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements.
• Build and scale a robust payments infrastructure to support continuous international growth and market entry.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in iGaming payments or broader FinTech payments leadership roles.
• Established network of PSP relationships across key regulated and emerging markets.
• Demonstrated track record of significantly improving approval rates and reducing processing costs.
• Deep understanding and practical experience with:
  • Card acquiring and processing.
  • Alternative Payment Methods (APMs).
  • Local payment rails and their nuances.
  • Fraud mitigation tools and strategies.
  • Payment orchestration platforms and best practices.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure advantageous terms.
• Extensive experience operating in complex multi-market environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with blockchain-based payment solutions or cryptocurrency processing.
• Knowledge of specific regulatory frameworks in emerging iGaming markets.
