As Head of Development, you will be the technical leader of the development team. You will be responsible for leading a team of 8-10 talented engineers, defining the technical vision, and ensuring the platform's quality and scalability. You will collaborate closely with product management to translate the roadmap into concrete technical solutions. Additionally, you will play an active role in architecture, code reviews, and coaching your team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a development team of 8-10 engineers.
• Be responsible for the technical strategy and architecture of the SaaS platform.
• Collaborate with product management on the product roadmap and feature implementation.
• Ensure high code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Introduce new technologies and best practices.
• Actively contribute to code reviews and complex technical challenges.
• Foster continuous improvement and growth within the team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in a SaaS or e-commerce environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or senior role, such as Lead Developer, Team Lead, or Head of Development.
• Strong background in backend development (preferably Python, Django, FastAPI or similar).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of data analysis, machine learning, or AI is a significant plus.
• Proven ability to translate technical vision into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Benefits

• A salary between €70,000 and €90,000 annually (based on a 40-hour work week, approximately €5,500 - €7,500 per month).
