Functional Application Specialist

Introduction

We are looking for a Functional Application Specialist to join a technically complex engineering organization. In this role, you will act as the link between business and IT, optimizing engineering processes within a PLM landscape and ensuring applications deliver real value to users and projects. You will have ample opportunity to take ownership and contribute substantively to development.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering processes into functional specifications.
• Analyze and resolve application issues in collaboration with business, IT, and suppliers.
• Set up, improve, and implement application processes.
• Manage interfaces, user rights, and authorizations.
• Provide functional support to PLM and CAD users.
• Develop training materials, documentation, and manuals.
• Organize and deliver application-related training.

Requirements

• HBO degree (higher vocational education).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Functional Application Specialist or Functional Administrator.
• Demonstrable knowledge of PLM principles and engineering processes.
• Experience with CAD and PLM environments (such as 3DX, CATIA, Cadmatic, or similar).
• Ability to effectively liaise between business and IT.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial attitude with strong ownership.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
