Functional Application Engineer

Introduction

We are looking for a Functional Application Specialist for a technically complex engineering organization. In this role, you will be the link between business and IT, optimizing engineering processes within a PLM landscape, and ensuring applications genuinely add value for users and projects. You will have ample opportunity to take ownership and contribute substantively.

Responsibilities

As a Functional Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the functional management and further development of PLM and engineering applications. Your tasks will include:

• Translating engineering processes into functional specifications.
• Analyzing and solving application issues in collaboration with business, IT, and suppliers.
• Setting up, improving, and implementing application processes.
• Managing interfaces, user rights, and authorizations.
• Functionally supporting PLM and CAD users.
• Developing training materials, documentation, and manuals.
• Organizing and providing application-related training.

Requirements

• HBO (higher professional education) degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Functional Application Specialist or Functional Administrator.
• Demonstrable knowledge of PLM principles and engineering processes.
• Experience with CAD and PLM environments (such as 3DX, CATIA, Cadmatic, or similar).
• Experience within the Maritime or Aerospace industry.
• Ability to effectively liaise between business and IT.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial attitude with strong ownership.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
