About the Position

Introduction

Anchorage Digital is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Blockchain Integrations team. This critical role involves managing a high-performing, geographically distributed team responsible for enabling secure and scalable interaction with hundreds of blockchain networks and digital assets. You will be instrumental in powering essential services like custody, staking, trading, and on-chain governance for institutional clients.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team of engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality execution and timely delivery.
Strategic Planning: Refine engineering roadmaps, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the technology strategy for your team.
Technical Oversight: Provide expertise and judgment in tackling complex distributed systems challenges, delivering scalable and reliable solutions.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, People/Recruiting, and other engineering leaders to align product plans with team bandwidth, technical realities, and team growth objectives.
Hiring & Development: Own recruiting, performance management, and career progression for your team members.
System Ownership: Spearhead the development and long-term support of blockchain integration services and secure infrastructure from inception.
Quality & User Focus: Ensure high code quality, robust test infrastructure, and prioritize end-user experience and business value.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed engineering team.
Proven experience building complex distributed systems (e.g., using Go, Rust, or similar languages).
Passion for building services from scratch and supporting them over their lifecycle.
Strong commitment to code quality and robust testing infrastructure.
Ability to prioritize end-user experience and business value in technical decision-making.
Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures (formal CS degree not required).
Self-motivated, creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hard-working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious.

Nice to Have

Experience with applied cryptography.
Deep interest and current knowledge of blockchain protocols and cryptoasset innovations.
Background in the financial services industry.
Professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity.
Familiarity with optimistic and zero-knowledge technologies (ZK-rollups, ZK-proofs).
