Engineering Manager

Backbase is a global fintech company with a mission to re-architect engagements around customers. We are on a mission to re-architect banking around the customer. Our omni-channel digital banking platform helps traditional banks and credit unions across the globe to compete with the new fintech players and become a relevant partner in the daily digital lives of their customers. We are growing and currently looking for an Engineering Manager (HCMC) to join Backbase.What you will be doing:Actively participate in your team’s delivery and contribute to technical decisions;Be a mentor to the team for any professional growth within their career. As well to help them find, grow and develop their specific contribution & purpose at Backbase;Lead your team to deliver solutions effectively and predictably, enabling them to meet the market needs with high-quality products. We trust our teams to solve challenging technical problems on their own;Work with the Product team to deliver solutions that meet business needs;Provide technical leadership to the team on technology choices, architecture, and design;Maintain a positive relationship between your team and others by ensuring good collaboration;Be a role model for Backbase values and culture;Conduct annual employee reviews and regular 1-on-1’s to improve team engagement and morale;Attract, onboard, and retain technical talent to strengthen your teams.What you will bring along:

You have an extensive experience of 10+ years within the information technology industry; You have 3+ years experience acting as an Engineering Manager; You have deep knowledge in designing, architecting, and operating highly available, scalable, distributed systems; You have hands-on experience in Java and/or any other programming language; You have good interpersonal and communication skills; You have strong people management skills; You are able to articulate and communicate the technical concepts effectively to a non-technical audience; You are able to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment; You have an excellent problem-solving skill, and you have ability to make sound decisions. Nice to have: Familiar with different Cloud Technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or Openshift; Experience working in a multicultural environment; Experience with software development in a distributed environment involving multiple development teams and departments; Experience with the API Economy and building platforms.
