Ecosystem Governance Architect

MakerDAO is an open-source project on the Ethereum blockchain and a Decentralized Autonomous Organization created in 2014. Managed by MKR token holders through scientific governance (Executive Voting and Governance Polling), MakerDAO oversees the Maker Protocol and the financial risks of Dai to ensure its stability, transparency, and efficiency. MKR voting weight is proportional to the amount of MKR staked in the voting contract. Atlas Axis is a startup venture incubated by MakerDAO.

Introduction

Atlas Axis, a startup incubated by MakerDAO, is seeking an Ecosystem Governance Architect to be a key architect of the Atlas, MakerDAO's AI-enhanced governance ruleset. This role involves shaping the future of self-governance for one of the earliest and longest-running DAOs on Ethereum, with over $7 billion in TVL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research and prepare raw data for integration into the Atlas.
• Set up and continuously refine Atlas core infrastructure and meta-rules.
• Coordinate work streams with various ecosystem stakeholders, including Alignment Conservers, community members, drafters, and domain experts.
• Draft, validate, and harmonize Atlas data.
• Venture into uncharted territory to shape the future of decentralized self-governance.
• Handle administrative tasks, research, stakeholder coordination, workflow optimization, data input, creation, review, and documentation preparation.

Requirements

• Familiarity with the Atlas (gen1) and MakerDAO. Quick learners with relevant qualifications may be an exception. Significant experience with community-driven organizations (Web3, decentralized, or otherwise) is a strong differentiator if MakerDAO familiarity is limited.
• Sharp, logical, and creative thinking to navigate complex data interconnections.
• Obsessive about learning and tackling complex problems.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous, and detail-oriented.
• Exceptional ability to read, analyze, and synthesize large volumes of information; adept at pattern recognition with strong working memory.
• Excellent and quick communication skills in English, particularly in writing, to hash out fine-grained arguments.
• Familiarity with extracting meaning from precise language facets, understanding how minor syntax changes can transform logic.
• Comfortable using Notion for workflow management.
• Self-starter with meaningful operations experience, capable of discerning needs and working independently with minimal direction.
• Non-binary thinker, able to address complex legal and ethical issues with nuanced perspectives.
• A generalist willing to take on various roles and tasks.
• Values kindness and is deeply committed to the mission of building for a long-term future.
