Director, Product & GM - Embed, Payward Services

We are seeking a Director, Product & GM to lead our Embed product line within Payward Services.

Payward Services is Kraken's B2B infrastructure platform, enabling companies to integrate digital asset trading, stablecoin payments, custody, staking, lending, and funding rails into their products through a single integration. The Embed product line specifically powers trading experiences inside partner applications, helping fintechs, banks, brokerages, and platforms offer digital asset trading to their customers without building exchange infrastructure from scratch.

This is a product-first leadership role where you will define the roadmap, shape partner integrations, and work directly with clients to ensure product success, directly impacting Payward Services revenue.

Responsibilities

• Own the Embed product line end-to-end, including strategy, roadmap, and execution across trading, custody (custodial + non-custodial), APIs, recurring/limit orders, xStocks, and derivatives (in collaboration with the Derivatives team).
• Build B2B2C trading infrastructure, enabling partners (fintechs, banks, brokerages) to embed institutional-grade trading into their products.
• Design systems spanning order management, execution, custody integration, compliance workflows, and trading UX/API patterns.
• Drive partner-led product development, translating client requirements into scalable product decisions and unblocking integrations.
• Ensure Embed's adoption through clean integration and effective problem-solving for partners.
• Lead the full product lifecycle from discovery and scoping through build, launch, and iteration.
• Manage a cross-functional pod (PM, design, engineering), setting priorities, removing blockers, and driving consistent delivery.
• Own key metrics including partner adoption, integration velocity, trading volume, end-user activation, and revenue impact.
• Partner with Sales and Business Development to support strategic deals with product expertise, demos, and custom integration planning.
• Act as a central platform owner, collaborating with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Payments, and Custody to scale globally and balance partner needs with platform reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience, with significant time building B2B2C infrastructure, ideally platforms enabling companies to add trading, brokerage, or financial services to their apps.
• Deep experience with trading platforms or exchange infrastructure; understanding of order types, execution models, custody, settlement, and building scalable trading products. Prior experience at an exchange, brokerage platform, or trading infrastructure provider is strongly preferred.
• Track record of shipping B2B products that partners successfully integrate, encompassing API design, onboarding, compliance requirements, and multi-tenant architecture.
• Technical fluency sufficient for architecture discussions, making informed build/buy tradeoffs, and challenging engineering when necessary.
• Experience in regulated financial services, working within compliance and licensing constraints across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong product sense with commercial awareness, connecting roadmap choices to business outcomes and driving revenue.
• Proven people leader who has built and managed cross-functional product teams, capable of hiring effectively, setting high standards, and fostering productive environments.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving fast, making decisions with imperfect information, and adapting as the business evolves.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience with digital asset trading platforms or cryptocurrency exchanges.
• Familiarity with financial API ecosystems and B2B integration challenges.
