Introduction

Sentient is seeking a highly strategic and operational leader to drive ecosystem growth, partnerships, and community engagement across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This role demands a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution, focusing on building key relationships, managing cross-functional initiatives, and fostering a vibrant open-source AI community in critical markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies spanning marketing, business development, and community growth with APAC as a primary focus.
• Lead planning cycles, ensuring robust alignment between ecosystem initiatives and the Foundation's core mission.
• Identify new market opportunities and strategically position the Sentient Foundation as a leading entity in open-source AI within the region.

Operations & Execution

• Drive cross-functional coordination, proactively resolving dependencies and ensuring initiatives remain on track.
• Design and implement processes and systems to enhance team velocity and achieve operational excellence.
• Provide timely support to leadership in decision-making to efficiently advance projects.

Business Development & Partnerships

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with exchanges, AI labs, protocols, and enterprises across the APAC region.
• Leverage exchange relationships to drive strategic initiatives and augment ecosystem visibility.
• Represent the Foundation at leading industry events and conferences throughout APAC.

Marketing & Community

• Develop refined Foundation messaging and brand positioning, incorporating regional nuances.
• Design and implement programs to actively engage developers, researchers, and builders across APAC.
• Build robust relationships with community members, key contributors, and prominent Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in target markets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, business development, or ecosystem growth within the Web3 or AI sectors.
• Strong track record of building successful partnerships and driving execution in APAC markets.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced environments.
• Deep understanding of open-source software, artificial intelligence, and Web3 ecosystems.

Nice to Have

• Background at a top-tier exchange (e.g., Coinbase, Binance, OKX).
• Experience at a foundation or protocol-level organization.
• Existing network within the APAC AI and crypto communities.
• Fluency in Mandarin.
