Delivery Director

Introduction

We are scaling up our Canadian head office, which now boasts over 80 professionals. We collaborate with major banks across Canada and need to grow our teams in Toronto. We provide an engaging online platform that empowers banks and credit unions to remain relevant and effective for their customers.

As a Delivery Director, you will operate at the intersection of business strategy and execution. Your role will be crucial in bridging the gap between our clients’ vision, our sales process, and the successful implementation of our cutting-edge Engagement Banking Platform.

Responsibilities

• Drive and guide the pre-sales process: understand client needs, define optimal solutions leveraging the Backbase platform, and effectively articulate the value proposition. This includes solution design, effort estimation, and presentation to key stakeholders.
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders across client organizations (executive, business, and IT), acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the successful delivery of multiple Backbase implementations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Direct and mentor a team of Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and other delivery professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, resolve complex issues, and manage changes effectively to ensure project success.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, product, engineering, and support, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Backbase’s delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Act as a thought leader, staying abreast of industry trends and promoting best practices in engagement banking and digital transformation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience leading complex software implementation projects in the financial services industry, ideally with a focus on digital banking or engagement platforms.
• Proven track record as a Delivery Director, Engagement Manager, or similar leadership role, managing multiple projects concurrently with a strong emphasis on client success.
• Deep understanding of the financial services landscape, including retail banking, commercial banking, wealth management, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and articulate complex architectural solutions and integration concepts.
• Experience with agile methodologies and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering tangible business value.
• Ability to travel to client sites as required.
