Responsibilities

As a Database Specialist, you will be responsible for improving database management systems within the organization. You will work closely with different teams to provide innovative solutions that meet the needs of internal clients. Your tasks include:

• Management and improvement of Microsoft SQL Server on-prem databases:
  • Ensuring optimal performance of our on-premise databases and implementing the latest technologies.
• Migration and advice for Azure databases:
  • Advising on and executing migration to Azure, applying your expertise to implement best practices.
• Database performance improvement:
  • Analyzing and optimizing database performance and sharing this knowledge with other teams and internal users.
• Setting up and improving the self-service database platform:
  • Developing and implementing a user-friendly platform that enables users to perform their database tasks efficiently.

Requirements

This role is ideal for you if you possess:

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2019/2022):
  • You know the ins and outs of SQL Server and preferably have experience with the Azure Stack.
• Skills in performance tuning:
  • You have experience in improving database performance and solving performance issues.
• Experience with monitoring DBA environments:
  • You are able to develop effective monitoring solutions for both Azure and on-premise environments.
• A positive and energetic attitude:
  • You have the motivation and energy to bring innovation to the team and the organization.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

About Company

You will be working in the Application and Database Team, an agile team of 9 professionals consisting of database and application specialists. Together, you will manage and improve Microsoft and Oracle databases for internal clients. Our team values collaboration, knowledge sharing, responsibility, and autonomy. We largely work from home but also enjoy meeting at our sustainable office in Utrecht, where we work in a pleasant and informal atmosphere.
