Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end data solutions, from data sources to consumption.
• Play a key role in the data & analytics roadmap.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical designs.
• Work with a wide range of technologies including Azure (Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, Data Factory), AWS (EMR, Glue, Redshift, S3), GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage), and on-premise solutions (Cloudera, Hortonworks, Kafka).
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet organizational needs and adhere to high standards of scalability, security, and performance.
• Guide and coach teams in implementing these solutions.
• Act as the technical conscience of the team.
• Be willing to program in languages such as Python, Scala, Java, or SQL.
• Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in the data and analytics world, translating them into concrete advice and solutions.
• Focus on the implementation of data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, data governance, and data quality.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Solution Architect or in a comparable role.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with various data architecture patterns and principles (e.g., Data Vault, Kimball, Inmon).
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or GCP and their data services.
• Experience with various data processing technologies (batch, streaming) and programming languages (Python, Scala, Java, SQL).
• Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to different stakeholders.
• Proactive, analytical, pragmatic, and results-oriented.
• Possess relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty).
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
