Introduction

The Analytics team at DoorDash is seeking experienced Data Scientists and Senior Data Scientists. You will play a crucial role in guiding measurement, strategy, and tactical decision-making across various teams and levels within the company. Data Scientists at DoorDash uncover insights and translate them into actionable recommendations, influencing decisions across the entire organization. Analytics is fundamental to all operational aspects of DoorDash.

Responsibilities

• Use quantitative analysis and data presentation to understand business drivers.
• Build full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools.
• Mentor junior analysts on advanced methods and problem-solving.
• Generate recommendations and validate findings using statistical techniques and hypothesis testing.
• Provide insights to business and product leaders regarding marketplace dynamics, user behaviors, and long-term trends.
• Identify and measure levers to improve key metrics and make data-driven recommendations.
• Deconstruct ambiguous problems and develop structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported solutions.
• Report on goals by defining key metrics and creating executive-level dashboards to track progress.
• Collaborate with engineering for the implementation, documentation, validation, and monitoring of logging.

Requirements

• Degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a similar domain.
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related role.
• Experience with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, and regression models.
• Expertise in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages like Matlab, R, SAS, or Python.
• Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g., Chartio, Looker, Tableau).
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported manner.
