    About the Position

    Introduction

    As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of user-facing and business-facing products across Meta's family of applications (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Oculus). Leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition on one of the world's richest datasets, you will contribute to defining experiences for billions of people and millions of businesses. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams in Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance, using data to identify and solve critical product development challenges.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with large and complex data sets to solve challenging problems using diverse analytical and statistical approaches.
    • Apply technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to develop product strategies.
    • Identify and measure the success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics.
    • Define, understand, and test opportunities for product improvement, driving roadmaps with insights and recommendations.
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 4+ years of work experience in analytics, data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical mathematical software (e.g., R). (Minimum of 2 years with a Ph.D.)
    • 4+ years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term product trends.
    • Experience leading data-driven projects from definition to execution, including defining metrics, experiment design, and communicating actionable insights.

    Nice to Have

    • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
    • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
    • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
