About the Position
Introduction
As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of user-facing and business-facing products across our family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition on one of the world's richest data sets, you will contribute to defining experiences for billions of people and millions of businesses globally. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams in Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to tackle complex product and business challenges. Your work will involve using data and analysis to identify and resolve major product development issues, influencing product strategy and investment decisions, and driving impact through collaborative efforts. Responsibilities
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve challenging problems using diverse analytical and statistical approaches.
- Apply technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to develop product strategies.
- Identify and measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics to understand trends.
- Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers for product improvement, driving roadmaps with insights and recommendations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of work experience in analytics (or a minimum of 4 years with a Ph.D.).
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
Nice to Have
- Master's or Ph.D. Degree in a quantitative field.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
