About the Position

Introduction

Vantor is seeking multiple Junior Data Scientists to join their team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to research, develop, and implement advanced analytical methodologies and techniques using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science approaches. You will support a defense intelligence program focused on improving analytic rigor, efficiency, and predictive capability.

To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government security clearance at the TS/SCI level with an in-scope CI poly. Employment for cleared roles is contingent upon verification of clearance status.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with analysts to address challenges with complex datasets, pattern identification, and visualizations.
Conduct research and implement analytic methodologies using statistical techniques and pattern recognition.
Assist analysts in developing structured approaches to predictive intelligence for increased timeliness and accuracy.
Expand existing Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities to include new entities and improved visualization.
Research and implement approaches to enhance analytical tradecraft, mitigate biases, and increase analytic rigor.
Research and implement advanced analytic methodologies to improve tradecraft, bias mitigation, and analytic efficiency.
Support the automation of structured analytic methods and workflows for increased repeatability and scalability of intelligence production.
Contribute to the development and integration of semantic technologies, including ontologies and knowledge graphs, to support Object-Based Intelligence (OBI) standards.
Design and build visualizations and dashboards to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Evaluate and optimize analytic performance using qualitative and quantitative metrics.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active TS/SCI with CI poly.
3 years of experience and a related Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated experience with Python, R, and SQL, including programmatic access to web services, data management, and visualization.
Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis and data mining algorithms.
Knowledge and experience with artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, cloud architecture, and data storage.

Nice to Have

Polished oral and written communication skills for delivering presentations and papers on abstract concepts.
Familiarity with graph databases or graph data structures.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on complex data science projects.
Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers.
Demonstrated experience in solving problems with structured and unstructured data.
Experience in applying statistical and data visualization skills.
Strong problem-solving skills to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets.
Proven ability to learn and master new software, technologies, and techniques.
Familiarity with generative AI and large language models (LLMs) and their application to intelligence requirements.
Experience in two or more of the following: Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Apache Spark, Hadoop, R, C++, SQL Database/Coding, or visualization tools such as Tableau.
