Introduction

Sopra Steria is seeking a Data Management Consultant/Data Modeler to help organizations build a robust knowledge foundation for the future. Responsibilities

As a Data Modeler, you will work with leading organizations to strengthen their data and information management. You will help them develop agile, explainable, and future-proof data architectures. Depending on the assignment, you will fulfill various roles within broader data management projects, such as:

• Data Modeler
• Linked Data Specialist
• Data or Information Architect

You will work in multidisciplinary teams with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, change consultants, and scrum masters to translate complex organizational challenges into cohesive information solutions.

Your tasks will include:

• Advising on data management, model-driven work, and knowledge ecosystems.
• Positioning modeling within broader data architecture and data management frameworks (such as DAMA-DMBOK).
• Structuring metadata and data management processes to enhance reusability and interoperability.
• Designing and developing conceptual frameworks and ontologies.
• Modeling data and processes within complex organizational and chain environments.
• Developing semantic building blocks for knowledge ecosystems, such as knowledge graphs.
• Contributing to knowledge development, innovation, and professional development within Sopra Steria.

Requirements

You have a solid foundation in information and data modeling and are capable of conceptual and systemic thinking. You understand that modeling is not an end in itself, but a means to make organizations governable and future-proof.

We are looking for:

• A higher vocational (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Information Science, Data Science, or similar.
• At least 2-3 years of experience with data modeling, data management, or information architecture.
• Experience with both semantic models and logical data models.
• Affinity with data architecture, data platforms, and AI concepts (knowledge of knowledge graph applications is a plus).
• Experience with business analysis and stakeholder communication.
• The ability to structure complex issues and translate them into clear models.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and comfort in an environment where content, collaboration, and entrepreneurship come together.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of knowledge graph applications.
