Introduction

As a Data Lead, you will take full ownership of both the data platform and the data team within a fast-growing organization in Zwolle. You will define the strategic, technical, and organizational direction for data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic, technical, and organizational direction for the data platform and team.
• Make key decisions regarding technologies like Databricks or Snowflake, DBT, modern ETL patterns, governance, and data quality.
• Translate technical choices into a clear roadmap understandable by the business.
• Lead a team of data engineers and analytics engineers.
• Drive quality and delivery rhythm within the team.
• Build a mature engineering culture, including on-call rotations and a healthy review practice.
• Oversee hiring for the data team.
• Shape team operations and growth.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, including finance, operations, and commercial leadership.
• Translate business needs into concrete data products.
• Balance value and effort in data projects.
• Provide constructive feedback when requests are better suited for dashboards rather than extensive projects.
