Data Hub Data Engineer

Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Data Hub Engineer to contribute to the further development of the strategic DataHub platform for Kadaster. This Azure-based data platform plays a crucial role in making data from various sources within the organization integrally available. In this role, you will work within a DevOps team on the development, management, and optimization of high-quality software solutions in Java and Spring Boot.

You will translate functional requirements and user stories into robust technical solutions, delivering quality code including tests and documentation. Additionally, you will actively contribute to design choices, knowledge sharing, and the continuity of the platform. This is a challenging role for a software engineer who feels at home in cloud-native environments, CI/CD processes, and modern technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Independently and collaboratively develop the various software components.
• Actively manage and monitor high-availability components.
• Discuss design choices and future-proof solutions.
• Conduct peer reviews and ensure knowledge transfer (documentation and knowledge sharing).
• Actively contribute to the development of unit and integration tests and test automation.
• Deliver high-quality software with the team.
• Participate in Scrum/DevOps sessions, where the team collaborates with the Product Owner and users on robust solutions.
• Together with the DevOps team, ensure the management and monitoring of the service.
• Assist in resolving disruptions and bug fixing, potentially in collaboration with other teams.

Requirements

• Fluent in Dutch, both spoken and written.
• Completed (bachelor) HBO education or higher.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a recent version (17 and higher) of Java.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with the Spring (Boot) framework.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with relational databases (Oracle/Postgres).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a CI/CD environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a cloud environment with Azure and Kubernetes.
• Customer-focused.
• Result-oriented.
• Good communication skills (both oral and written).
• Able to work within a Scrum team.
• Team player.
• Proactive and resourceful.
• Analytical skills.
• Persuasive based on substantive arguments, but also open to the insights of others.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Java 21 or 25.
• Familiarity with the DotWebStack framework.
• Experience with Apache Airflow.

Benefits

• Assignment duration: up to and including July 31, 2027.
• Extension options: 1 time 12 months.
• Hours per week: 36 to 40 hours.
• Hybrid work: 2 days a week in the office (Gelderland region).
