Introduction

As a Data Engineer at Sopra Steria, you will ensure that data is available and usable. You will build smart pipelines, link data sources, and ensure our clients can rely on up-to-date, well-structured information.

Working from Groningen within Sopra Steria North's Data practice, you will collaborate with strategists, developers, consultants, and engineers to enable data-driven operations. From data migration to setting up robust pipelines, you will make sure data is available, reliable, and usable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data availability and usability for clients.
• Build smart data pipelines and connect various data sources.
• Optimize existing solutions for scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, and consultants on technical approaches.
• Focus on data quality, reusability, and security.
• Handle data modeling and cloud migrations.
• Work in a hybrid model, with Groningen as your primary location.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar technical role.
• Experience building pipelines in technologies like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
• Experience with extracting data from various sources (cloud and on-premise).
• Basic knowledge of Python or Spark is a plus.
• Ability to think in solutions, not limitations.
• Capability to switch easily between technical and business perspectives.
• Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and initiative.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
