About the Position

Introduction

Kraken is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst, Risk and Operational Performance to join our remote team. This role is crucial for elevating decision-making by uncovering emerging trends, identifying root causes, and driving actionable insights to enhance business performance and operational efficiency across various teams.

At Kraken, data is not just an asset; it's the foundation of trust and vital for strategic decision-making. As a Data Analyst, you will act as a key business partner, combining data-driven insights with strategic thinking to provide recommendations and drive measurable impact.

Responsibilities

Act as a trusted business advisor to the Core Services team, proactively identifying trends and driving efficiency improvements.
Own the design of dashboards, metrics, and reports, translating complex data into actionable insights for the fraud, funding, risk, and support experience teams.
Dive into large, complex datasets and logs to develop scalable data models that facilitate reporting, analytics, and Machine Learning (ML) models.
Lead cross-functional projects with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and product teams to build robust data pipelines using Airflow, Python, and dbt.
Develop and automate the reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) across core services teams.
Be at the forefront of data innovation by experimenting, testing hypotheses, and translating insights into action.
Develop high-quality code for data pipelines and dashboards, adhering to software engineering best practices.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in data analysis and data management within the Fintech industry, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Experience working with fraud, funding, finance, and customer support teams to analyze and optimize operational performance across business systems.
Expert SQL skills and hands-on experience in Python.
Hands-on experience using dbt (data build tool) to model and organize data for reporting and decision-making.
Experience setting up and managing data pipelines, with a strong understanding of data workflow orchestration.
Capable of creating intuitive dashboards and visualizations to clearly communicate complex insights.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
A degree in a field emphasizing analytical rigor, such as analytics, software engineering, or economics.
Based in Canada or the US and fluent in English.
