Data Analyst (Klimaatroute)

Klimaatroute is the consulting domain within the Essent Future Energy Home business unit, dedicated to helping organizations make their real estate and energy consumption more sustainable. You will work within Klimaatroute's IT team, functionally reporting to the business unit's data platform, and will collaborate intensively with the IT Lead Data & Analytics, fellow data analysts, and various internal and external stakeholders. They are looking for someone analytically strong and critical, capable of clearly understanding complex issues and effectively communicating data-driven insights to the business. You will ensure that insights are not only technically sound but also contribute to better decisions and create real value for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI based on the Databricks lakehouse.
• Translate business questions into clear, defined, and validated requirements.
• Critically question stakeholders when goals, KPIs, or added value are insufficiently clear.
• Identify overlaps with existing dashboards and prevent unnecessary duplication.
• Monitor data quality, consistency, and architectural principles.
• Collaborate with the data platform team on data models, definitions, and data reuse.
• Document dashboards, assumptions, and definitions to ensure insights remain reproducible and understandable.

You will only work on a solution when it is clear which decision it supports and what definitions are involved.

Requirements

• HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level, preferably demonstrated by a relevant diploma.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Specialist, or in a similar role.
• Experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, and visualizations).
• Experience with Databricks and working within a lakehouse environment (SQL and/or Python).
• Experience with collecting, structuring, and challenging requirements.
• Knowledge of data architecture is a plus.
• Affinity with sustainability, energy, or real estate is a plus.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
