About the Position

Introduction

In this role, you will bridge the gap between bioscience research and cloud technology by designing resilient infrastructure for massive AI/ML workloads. You will be responsible for creating 'golden paths' that simplify deployment for developers, ensuring that vital research data flows through secure, automated, and observable pipelines.

This position is specifically designed for engineers who leverage AI coding assistants to manage complex environments. You will support cloud migrations and platform standardization while mentoring other engineers on the integration of AI-driven development practices into their daily workflows.

Responsibilities

Automation & IaC: Use AI tools to draft and refine Terraform, Ansible, and Python scripts for cloud-native platforms.
Orchestration: Manage containerized ecosystems using Docker and Kubernetes to support model training and high-performance compute.
System Reliability: Implement AIOps and observability frameworks to maintain the health of critical research tools used by the NIH.

Requirements

Proficiency in 'vibe coding' (using AI assistants for development).
Experience with Linux, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD.
Strong skills in Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Observability, Cloud Computing (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience with Automation, AIOps, MLOps.
Background in Data Engineering, Security, Networking, Node.js, .NET Core, Java is a plus.
