Based in our new hub in Ghent, Belgium, you’ll be a crucial driver of Mollie’s growth and ambition in Belgium. As a Compliance Officer, we are seeking a self-starter with a passion for innovation, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You’ll become an important member of the local management team and will report directly to Mollie’s Global Head of Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to the Product, Business, and Commercial teams on all relevant Belgian (payment services and anti-money laundering) regulations and industry guidelines, as well as on new products and services in Belgium.
• Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments in Belgium relevant to Mollie's business activities.
• Participate in drafting, reviewing, and updating internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Belgian regulations.
• Support local and regional management in identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks in Belgium.
• Act as a point of contact for relevant Belgian regulatory authorities.
• Be actively involved in the development and delivery of compliance training to relevant stakeholders in Belgium.
• Collaborate with the Global Compliance team to ensure a consistent and harmonised approach to compliance and risk management within the Mollie Group.
• Act as a local representative of Mollie and build a strong network, including with regulatory bodies, banks, and the wider payments industry.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Law, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience as a Compliance Officer in the financial services sector in Belgium (e.g., at a payments institution, bank, or PSP).
• Solid knowledge of Belgian and European payment services and anti-money laundering regulations.
• Understanding of the latest trends and developments in the Belgian payments market.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach.
• Native-level proficiency in Dutch and/or French, and full professional proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
• Available full-time for this opportunity.
