Compliance Manager – Crypto Exchange

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our Dubai-based crypto exchange company. This role will be instrumental in guiding our licensing process with VARA and ADGM, and will play a key part in our global expansion efforts. If you have a proven track record of initiating licenses from scratch, experience working with leading crypto exchanges, and deep expertise in cryptocurrency regulations across multiple jurisdictions, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Licensing & Regulatory Compliance: Lead the process of obtaining licenses with VARA and ADGM. Develop, implement, and manage compliance strategies that meet local and international regulatory requirements.
• Global Expansion: Assist in scaling our operations globally by ensuring adherence to evolving regulations in various jurisdictions.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks associated with cryptocurrency trading and related operations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including legal, operations, and business development to align compliance initiatives with business objectives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory bodies, legal advisors, and industry experts to stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure proactive compliance.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, maintain up-to-date documentation, and support audits and regulatory inspections.

Requirements

• Licensing Expertise: Demonstrated success in initiating and securing licenses for crypto-related operations, particularly with VARA and ADGM or similar regulatory bodies.
• Industry Experience: Proven experience working in leading cryptocurrency exchanges or fintech companies.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global cryptocurrency regulations, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments across different jurisdictions.
• Technical Acumen: Strong familiarity with the technical and operational aspects of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and related financial instruments.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex regulatory challenges and develop effective, innovative compliance solutions.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the capability to clearly explain complex regulatory issues to diverse audiences.
• Educational Background: A degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Advanced certifications or training in compliance or risk management are highly desirable.
