Cloud Security Engineer

You will be working for a leading cloud and cybersecurity partner that supports large, often regulated organizations in their digital transformation. They design and build public, private, and hybrid cloud environments with a strong focus on digital sovereignty, compliance, and secure, scalable platforms, enabling organizations to reliably and future-proof manage their most critical systems.

Introduction

Are you an experienced Senior Security Engineer looking to work on complex, mission-critical cloud environments? In this role, you will leverage your expertise in cloud and platform security to translate compliance requirements into enforceable, automated security controls.

You will combine strategic insight with hands-on execution within DevSecOps teams, playing a key role in designing and monitoring the security architecture of high-quality cloud platforms where safety, continuity, and compliance are central.

Responsibilities

• Secure client-specific Digital Sovereign Private Cloud environments throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Implement security controls, hardening, and monitoring in OpenShift and cloud-native platforms.
• Own compliance readiness and security assurance, including audit preparation.
• Integrate security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA) and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with the Lead Delivery Architect and platform teams to realize secure-by-design solutions.
• Work hands-on within DevSecOps teams and translate regulations into enforceable controls.
• Advise and communicate about security risks, trade-offs, and mitigations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud or platform security roles.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift in production environments.
• Experience with security automation, policy-as-code, and continuous compliance.
• Knowledge of audits, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks (EU-GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001/17/18, EU-CoC, EUCS).
• Strong analytical skills and risk awareness.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have:

• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP).
• Experience with Digital Sovereign or regulated sectors (government, defense, justice).
