About the Position

Introduction

Alchemy is seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and scaling the infrastructure for our leading blockchain developer platform. As a key member of our Infrastructure department, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of systems handling billions of daily requests and over $150B in annual transactions across 100+ blockchain networks.

Alchemy is at the forefront of bringing web3 to a billion people, providing essential APIs, SDKs, and tools for building and scaling on-chain applications and rollups. Our platform powers a significant portion of the web3 ecosystem, serving top projects like Polymarket, OpenSea, Circle, and WorldCoin, alongside major global brands such as Shopify and Adobe.

Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, and operate highly scalable and self-healing infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native tools in multi-region environments.
Drive AI enablement across engineering, optimizing repositories, tooling, and workflows for agentic development with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
Develop AI-powered infrastructure tooling and automation, including automated Kubernetes upgrades, IaC plan analysis, cost optimization advisors, and workflow automation (e.g., n8n).
Build and maintain internal developer platform (IDP) capabilities to facilitate self-service deployments, robust observability, and high reliability.
Design and implement comprehensive observability frameworks using Prometheus and Grafana for metrics collection, dashboarding, and alerting.
Lead incident management processes, conduct blameless post-mortems, and define/enforce Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets across all services.
Design and manage multi-cloud, multi-region network architectures, encompassing VPC design, IPAM, DNS (Cloudflare), cross-cloud connectivity, security groups, and edge-proxy/Istio gateway configurations.
Collaborate with security teams to embed compliance directly into infrastructure, including IaC scanning and runtime protection mechanisms.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to enhance the team's operational capabilities and expertise.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on reliability (SRE, Production Engineer, Platform Engineer).
Proven experience driving company-wide reliability initiatives, including the implementation of SLO frameworks and error budget policies.
Strong proficiency with observability stacks, specifically OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and multi-region architectural patterns.
Skilled in using Terraform, Helm, and implementing GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD) with an automation-first mindset.
Solid networking fundamentals, including VPC design, DNS, IPAM, and security groups. Experience with cross-cloud connectivity and service mesh (e.g., Istio) is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective during incident response, with a focus on systemic improvement through blameless post-mortems.
Excellent cross-functional communication skills, adept at collaborating with SRE, security, and product engineering teams.

Nice to Have

Experience leveraging agentic development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and workflow automation (e.n8n) to accelerate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and build internal tooling.
Direct experience with blockchain infrastructure, distributed systems, or high-throughput RPC services.
