Business Development Manager (Web3 / DeFi)

Magnet is a growth company operating in Web3, currently working with a Web3 protocol in the DeFi landscape. The protocol is building financial infrastructure and solutions for blockchain-based businesses, delivering high-impact, B2B financial services across the crypto ecosystem.

Magnet is a growth-oriented company deeply embedded within the Web3 ecosystem, currently collaborating with a prominent Web3 protocol focused on DeFi. This protocol is dedicated to developing financial infrastructure and innovative solutions for blockchain-based businesses, offering high-impact B2B financial services across the crypto landscape. As we scale, we are seeking a highly connected and results-driven Business Development Manager to accelerate our growth and significantly expand our network.

This is a high-impact, revenue-focused role with two primary growth channels:

• Direct Business Development: Sourcing and securing projects directly for the protocol.
• Partner-Led Growth: Cultivating and managing a network of strategic partners to drive deal flow.

You will be responsible for originating opportunities, conducting demonstrations, closing deals, and managing crucial partner relationships, all while operating effectively and independently within a well-defined BD framework.

Responsibilities

• Leverage an existing Web3 network to source and onboard new B2B clients.
• Identify DeFi and crypto projects that can benefit from our financial solutions.
• Conduct demo calls and present protocol solutions to founders, executives, and key decision-makers.
• Manage the full business development lifecycle: outreach, qualification, and closing.
• Build and maintain a robust partner network (e.g., agencies, service providers, ecosystems) capable of referring and generating deal flow.
• Manage and motivate partners to actively contribute business to the protocol.
• Track pipeline activity and performance meticulously within our BD system.
• Provide valuable market feedback and insights derived from project conversations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Web3 business development, with a strong preference for DeFi.
• An existing, active network of crypto founders, protocols, service providers, and ecosystem players.
• A strong understanding of the DeFi landscape and crypto-native financial products.
• Experience in selling B2B solutions within Web3.
• Comfortable leading demo calls and clearly explaining complex technical and financial solutions.
• A self-starter and independent operator capable of managing a personal pipeline and delivering results.
• Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Results-driven with a clear track record of generating revenue or securing strategic partnerships.

Nice to Have

• Experience working at a Web3 protocol or infrastructure provider.
• Experience in building or managing channel/partner programs.
• Deep understanding of token ecosystems and crypto-native business models.
