Bitcoin/JS Developer

Introduction

Blockonomics is seeking a Senior Bitcoin/JS Developer to contribute to a new open-source Bitcoin wallet project. This role involves developing a robust, secure, and user-friendly wallet as a Chrome extension, utilizing your expertise in Bitcoin protocol, JavaScript, and web security.

Responsibilities

• Write code for a new open-source Bitcoin wallet based on JavaScript/Chrome extension technology.
• Communicate with the Electrum SPV server to retrieve transaction and balance data.
• Develop a modular and optimized core engine capable of various tasks, including wallet creation, sending, and receiving Bitcoin.
• Implement extensive unit test cases to ensure the security and correctness of each module.
• Translate designs into functional frontend screens.

Requirements

• Proven experience contributing to well-known open-source Bitcoin projects.
• Strong understanding of the Bitcoin protocol, wallet internals, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for development tasks.
• Deep understanding of cryptography and web security principles.
• Comfortable with HTML/CSS.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience developing Chrome extensions.
