Introduction

Börse Stuttgart is looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join their IT Architecture Department. In this role, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that support their financial trading platforms and services. You will work closely with architects, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with IT architects to translate architectural designs into practical, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
• Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and secure development principles.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, providing timely resolutions.
• Work with various databases (SQL, NoSQL) and messaging systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer with a strong understanding of software development principles and patterns.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, C#).
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of various testing methodologies and tools (unit, integration, end-to-end testing).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluency in English.
