Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services that power AI capabilities.
• Contribute to the architectural vision and make critical design decisions.
• Influence the future direction of the company's technology.
• Work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to translate complex requirements into elegant and efficient technical solutions.
• Tackle challenges related to system performance, data integrity, low-latency API development, and the integration of advanced AI models.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, ideally in a scale-up environment.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Elixir, or Rust (experience with multiple is a strong plus).
• Experience designing and building highly scalable, distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL) and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLMs, machine learning infrastructure, or real-time data processing.
